Educational background: I received my PhD in Behavior, Ecology, Evolution, and Systematics (in the Biological Sciences program) at the University of Maryland in 2018.
As an undergraduate, I studied Environmental Science with a double concentration in Aquatic Ecology and Terrestrial Ecology at the College at Brockport, State University of New York. I was fortunate to have amazing professors and a schedule filled with "-ology" courses and field-based labs.
Hi, thanks for checking out my research!
Current position: Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology and Consortium for Faculty Diversity Postdoctoral Fellow at Swarthmore College, Swarthmore, PA
Career goals: My goal is to maintain an active research program in pursuit of species conservation. I’m happiest working in the field, but also love teaching and mentoring students. Wherever I end up, I'd like to maintain engagement with the herpetological conservation community and LGBTQ+ advocacy groups.
Personal interests: I strongly believe in maintaining personal goals and hobbies, while pursuing work that I truly love. I spend as much time as possible with my fiancé Sarah, our dog Kali, and our friends and family. I enjoy exploring new places and scouting out local coffee shops, breweries, and hiking trails. You will often find me listening to podcasts, reading/listening to fantasy fiction books, or obsessing over a new topic I want to learn about (e.g., personal finance, nutrition, public policy).
